Klaxons sounded, banners unfurled, and confetti filled the air as Strictly Legit Motor Claims Management Ltd (some names have been altered to protect the guilty) achieved the coveted distinction of becoming the 200th claims firm shut down by the MoJ’s Claims Management Regulation unit.

In particular, according to this week’s Insurance Times, the unit are targeting rogue claims management firms who mislead through their marketing, levy unfair upfront fees, perpetrate “cash for crash” frauds and engage in agressive cold calling.

The uniteers have pledged to “weed out” firms whose actions harm customers. “We will strike down with great vengeance and with furious anger upon those who attempt to poison and destroy their customers,” a spokesman said. “And they shall know that our name is MoJCMR when we lay our vengeance upon them.”
