Smile, you’re on spycam

Published Tuesday, November 2nd 2010

Police across Europe are planning to deploy new super speedcams to monitor our every motorised move from 2013. That at least is what the Daily Mail says.

Secret testing is current underway in Finland on a £50k trailer-mounted camera that will monitor, not just speed, but also distance from the car in front, tax disk uptodateness, and insuredness via numberplate recognition.

Better still, the new cameras will film inside your car to check whether you are wearing a seatbelt, texting at the wheel, puffing on a splif, naked from the waist down, being fellated by a former soap star etc, etc.

Predictably, the frivolous carping over privacy has already begun – but is not to be taken seriously. Those obeying Big Brother should have absolutely nothing to hide/fear/etc.
