The government’s plans for flogging off the family silver continue apace with the offloading of state-owned bike insurance provider Devitt to its senior management team.
The broker’s former minder Daz Evans of RBS Insurance opened a fierce war of words over the acrimonious parting of ways saying: “Devitt Insurance Services is a great business. But one that no longer fits in with our strategic direction.” Ouch!
Devitt ringleader Billy Hughes fired back with the following bitter retort: “The team and I are delighted to be taking over the company. We have dedicated our time and energy to ensuring that the business is successful and we look forward to continuing that work with the support of our employees, affinity partners and insurer panel.”
With such a strikingly original approach, who can doubt Devitt will do very well for themselves in the private sector.
