Even as Bankstone News goes to press Bankstone’s crack karting team is out in Daytona competing in the Milton Keynes Insurance Endurance karting event.

The infamous six-hour kart endurance race gruels participants with endless belting round a wiggly tarmac course fringed with stacks of car tires. It also features a Formula One style Pit Stop Challenge.

After six years trying – best result to date second place – Team Bankstone (currently running around 12th in the main event) has finally cracked

it and WON the Insurance Endurance pitstop challenge. It took the boys a mere 21.42 seconds (remarkably close to the 3 second standard set by real F1 crews) to swap all four wheels on an ex-Jordan Formula 1 car driven by Heinz-Harald Frentzen in three races back in 2000.
